SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

Founded in 1542, SMA is a gorgeous town located in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, literally the heart of Mexico. The town is a UNESCO world heritage site, and it has been recognized as one of the world’s best cities to visit and live as well as one of the safest cities in Mexico.

SMA is only about 4 hours by car from Mexico City, 2.5 to Morelia, 4.5 to Puebla, and only 1-1.5 to either Guanajuato City or Queretaro. Also, SMA’s is close to many smaller towns and villages or natural sites of central Mexico.
